Crow Canyon, Then San Ramon Valley Boulevard: The Repaving Calendar Behind a Norris Canyon Estates Fall

October 15, 2026

The Norris Canyon Estates gate opens onto Norris Canyon Road. From there, two roads lead down to everyday errands in San Ramon. This fall the City of San Ramon is repaving both on staggered, overlapping schedules. Crow Canyon Road starts first and runs from late September to November 20. San Ramon Valley Boulevard starts in early November and runs into the first week of December. In the same weeks, two storefronts at Crow Canyon Commons went dark.

The City has already published dates for every segment, which makes the paving schedule the more useful guide to planning the errand run this fall.

Two Ways Down the Hill

Patch has described Norris Canyon Estates as a gated community located off Norris Canyon Road. The builder's original directions put the entrance about a mile and a half along Norris Canyon Road from Bollinger Canyon Road. From that point the road network splits in two.

San Ramon's municipal code describes Bollinger Canyon Road as running from Crow Canyon Road to Norris Canyon Road. Heading north on Bollinger takes you straight to Crow Canyon Road and the shopping centers along Crow Canyon Place. The City's 2026 street-sweeping list describes Norris Canyon Road itself as running east to San Ramon Valley Boulevard. That gives you the second way out.

The City's Pavement Management 2026 Project covers both roads. The contractor is Goodfellow Bros. Inc.

The Calendar, Segment by Segment

The City posted its proposed concrete and paving schedule on September 23, 2026. The Crow Canyon Road segments start exactly where Bollinger Canyon Road comes in.

Segment Concrete work Paving Treatment
Crow Canyon Road, both directions, Bollinger Canyon Road to San Ramon Valley Boulevard Sept 28 to Oct 30 Nov 9 to Nov 20 Mill and fill
Crow Canyon Place, Fostoria Way to Crow Canyon Road Sept 28 to Oct 30 Nov 9 to Nov 20 Pavement repairs
San Ramon Valley Boulevard, both directions, Pine Valley Road to Montevideo Drive via Westside Drive Nov 2 to Nov 23 Nov 23 to Nov 25 Mill and fill
San Ramon Valley Boulevard, Montevideo Drive to Bollinger Canyon Road Southbound only, Nov 2 to Nov 23 Nov 30 to Dec 4 Pavement repairs

Read top to bottom, the table shows the work shifting from one road to the other, with an overlap in the middle of November. Concrete work on Crow Canyon Road ends October 30. The Crow Canyon paving crews aren't scheduled back until November 9. Concrete work on San Ramon Valley Boulevard starts November 2, in the gap between the two Crow Canyon phases. As the Crow Canyon paving wraps up November 20, the San Ramon Valley Boulevard paving takes over from November 23 through December 4. From now through early December, at least one of the two routes has crews scheduled on it in almost every week.

Crow Canyon Place gets pavement repairs on the same dates as the Crow Canyon Road segments. That matters because Crow Canyon Place is the street that serves Crow Canyon Commons.

The City's resurfacing notice gives general work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. unless otherwise posted. It says drivers should expect "No Parking" signs, lane closures and minor traffic delays. Changeable message signs on Crow Canyon Road and San Ramon Valley Boulevard will show the planned dates. "No Parking" signs go up at least 72 hours ahead, and the notice warns that crews may arrive at any time on the posted dates. The City calls these dates proposed, and its notice says weather or other unforeseen delays can move them.

What's Still at the End of the Crow Canyon Run

Two businesses on Crow Canyon Place closed within about two weeks of each other.

Patch reported that Dos Coyotes closed its restaurant at 3191 Crow Canyon Place on Thursday, September 24. It was the chain's last Bay Area location. Patch quoted the restaurant's Facebook goodbye: "Thank you, San Ramon! It has been a privilege to serve this community."

DanvilleSanRamon.com reported that the Leslie's Pool Supplies store at 3211 Crow Canyon Place, Suite L, had closed. The closure was part of the restructuring Leslie's began with its bankruptcy filing on September 30. The paper photographed the empty storefront on October 8. According to the same report, a sign on the door reads "This store is closed but your Leslie's experts are still close by." Leslie's stores remain open on San Ramon Valley Boulevard in Danville, Santa Rita Road in Pleasanton and East Stanley Boulevard in Livermore. For pool owners, the Danville store is on San Ramon Valley Boulevard, the road scheduled for work in November.

The larger stores that bring most people to Crow Canyon Commons are still listed. The landlord, Federal Realty, gives the center's address as 3181 Crow Canyon Place and lists these tenants:

  • Groceries: Sprouts Farmers Market. Its own store page shows hours of 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Hardware and household: Alamo Ace Hardware and Total Wine & More
  • Restaurants: Kinja Sushi, Breakfast Club, Pasta Primavera, Saffron Grill and Thai Taste

The directory is undated, so it's a guide rather than proof that every tenant is open this week. It also marks one large unit "TBD" and two other spaces "Available," with no replacement tenants named. No public report so far says what will take over the Dos Coyotes or Leslie's spaces.

The anchor tenants for groceries, hardware and dinner are still on the directory.

Fitting the Weekends Around the Work

The fall's community events land around the same paving windows. Several of them are reached without going through the Crow Canyon Road segments. In date order:

  1. Saturday, October 24. The East Bay Regional Park District leads a registration-required Women in Wilderness hike to Las Trampas Peak at 9 a.m. (details on the Las Trampas page). On the same day, Forest Home Farms Historic Park holds Trick or Treat on the Farm. Its Saturday programs generally run 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  2. Sunday, October 25. City Center Bishop Ranch hosts Howl-O-Ween, a free costumed-pet parade in Alexander Square from 2 to 3 p.m. Patch reported that The Hub's Haunted Hub runs from 1 to 5 p.m. that day, with tickets at $20 per dog for members and $30 for nonmembers.
  3. Saturday, October 31. Forest Home Farms' Saturday program is Pumpkins, Gourds, & Squash. The Crow Canyon concrete window will have closed the day before, on October 30.
  4. Friday, November 6. City Center holds the opening ceremony for the Kristi Yamaguchi Holiday Ice Rink. That week sits between the two Crow Canyon phases.
  5. Saturday, November 14. Bread & Jam at Forest Home Farms falls in the middle of the Crow Canyon paving window.
  6. Friday, November 20. City Center's Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony falls on the last scheduled day of Crow Canyon paving.

City Center also has a new dinner option. The Mercury News reported that Alora Social opened there the week of September 15, in a story previewing San Ramon's restaurant week. The story didn't give an exact opening date or street address.

The East Bay Regional Park District alerts page listed no closure notices for Las Trampas or Bishop Ranch as of October 12. That page updates continuously. Along Crow Canyon Road, the City's changeable message signs carry the planned construction dates, and "No Parking" signs go up at least 72 hours before planned work.
